Lamentations and Regrets
Copyrights Reserved© LeX Productions 2005
As the cursory breeze sifts through the trees
Stroking my face ever so gently
I ponder upon moments past
Tinged in regret and bitterness
Over what might have been
Ruing decisions gone wrong
Lamenting the unneeded consequences
Golden windows of opportunity
Closed in youthful folly and haste
One can only look back
In utter regret and sorrow
The right words remain unsaid
Words that hurt take their place
Values of wisdom and sensibility
Why did we neglect them then?
Why?
Situations past and present
We have only too often
Blinded by bias and perceptions
Thrown our senses in wild abandon
Walked on the wrong path
To the boundaries of destruction
Perhaps we could turn back the hands of time
Erase this blanket of regret and anguish
Clawing at our hearts inexorably
And fill our hearts with joy once more
Perhaps
