That lush calm, rich silence

Blankets the soul, channeling peace

The very untainted nature of rain

At its most saccharine, a sight to behold

Nothing prima facie, it has always been and will be

Torrents tear down in a crusade

Bent at an angle, the wind’s protractor

Droplets accumulate, fall off ledges

Yet you wonder why in such a world rain-infused

That the very elements it encapsulates

Belied by a masquerade of old and modern ills

War, hypocrisy, bloodshed, depression

Love for the ephemeral, living likewise

If only we left Mother Nature to her devices

And ours to the will of the One above

Ever constant rain is, yet enthralling in its vicissitudes

It is every thing we are not.

Ripple Mnemonics

A few stones carelessly tossed

Ripples erupting on impact

Forming quaint little circles

With boundaries criss-crossing

Like misshapen stitches on cloth

Or perhaps for a brief moment

Cesspools of disquiet

The image singes into my mind

Its imprint brings forth a memory

In vividness, seemingly distant

I recall the times when things were more certain

When I could always count

On someone close by

Probably you yes?

When all hearts contained were

Innocence in truest essence

And the future did not seem so uncertain

As it ever did now

Not that it matters any more

Than the splashes from insignificant ripples

Stones move and stop and move

But they remain where they are

At least for now

Reminiscences and Reflections

Charm of the moment not lost

The leaves rustles, the darkness casts pallor upon the skies

The branches sway in endless reverberation

Rain intensified in pace, mirror of life unfolds

The pace quickens, quickens like bullets fired

From a gun created not too long ago

A metamorphosis of sorts from what it used to be

Casting a shadow upon the papers, photos, memories

Yet they remain firmly in place, paperweight-bound

Rain and the calming winds that accompany

And the inebriated silence

A salve in a world of chaos

Just like the memories marked and compartmentalized

Ensconced in the deepest chambers of my heart

Safely out of reach

A semblance of understanding emerges amidst torrents

Of the mechanisms of stark reality

Perspectives of Wind

The clouds of storm congregate

A gust comes forth in the darkness

My hand reaches out

Attempting to grasp it in futility

It continues charging

In a direction self-dictated

Brushing across my outstretched palm

It takes no heed from anyone

Such defiance, the cheek of force

Sending even the crowns of mighty trees

Flailing in the breeze

A sensation of cold ensues

No interregnum exists, nor should it

Never stopping to catch its breath

The wind of Mother Nature knows no bounds

Just like those that reside in time

A Walk of Reflection
Copyrights Reserved© LeX Productions 2006

The chilling night wind twisting through

Veiled in darkness, constantly hidden

Thick leaves and overgrowth give way

Stopped midway by yet another

In the opposite direction

One can only imagine what cavorts

Through the mind of the concealed

Yet in further presponderance

Seemingly echoing

The confines of one's mind

A melancholy steeped in depth

The weariness of the days past

Pressed hard for an answer

But none comes forth

A dried-up fountain that flows no more

That we persist in

Choosing the paths that mislead

That press toward destinations

Of great futility, little fruition

Perhaps it would be foolish to deem all at present

Foolish, unabashed folly in essence

All too many had objectives of noble nature,

Of unperturbed peace and joy. But alas!

Things seldom follow singular routes

Crafted and lovingly planned within minds

We will but in vain at times

A rude awakening in the midst of night

The Futuristic Illusions
Copyrights Reserved© LeX Productions 2005

As the winds gently touch my forehead

Tossing my hair carelessly aside

The waves surge forward with great vigour

Obstinately against the rocks

Glancing at the clouds

Stars planted immaculately in between

Worries are ostensibly distant

Yet they remain with constancy

The chilly winds trigger

An unprecedented whirlwind within

Doubts come flooding again

Suffusing every nook and corner

The future seems so uncertain

Impossible to fathom in its intricacy

Kismet's crazy ideas

Messing with the sanity of our minds

Will one's hopes and dreams

Ever see the light of day?

Will love and friendship

Simply fade away like passing clouds?

Could everything we cherish and love

Just perish like the flicker of a match?

The journey ahead appear precarious

Fraught with obstacles at every turn

The future is but inevitable

A new dawn awaits
